Until her film debut in Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis
was virtually unknown. Although her mother Janet
Leigh and father Tony Curtis were and still are
certified Hollywood royalty, Jamie Lee had to earn
her role as Laurie Strode just like everyone else and
amazingly, had even feared being fired after her first
week of filming. Despite any initial difficulties Jamie
Lee not only finished the movie, she also went on to
follow in her famous parents' footsteps, establishing
her own successful acting career.
After following up Halloween with such horror movies
as The Fog, Halloween II, Terror Train and Prom
Night, Jamie Lee broke free of the genre with her
critically acclaimed work opposite Dan Aykroyd and
Eddie Murphy in Trading Places.
Since then, Jamie Lee has co-starred with many of
Hollywood's top leading men including: John Travolta
in Perfect, Mel Gibson in Forever Young, and Arnold
Schwarzenegger in True Lies. Jamie Lee continues
to work extensively both in television and in film and
recently returned to her horror roots by reviving the
role of Laurie Strode in the "sequel" Halloween H20.
